maria + blake | romantic sarasota wedding

Maria and Blake planned their romantic Sarasota wedding for a beautiful sunny afternoon under the oaks. These two are young and in love and it was so fun to capture their day.
Maria had the genius and unconventional idea to rent a stunning airbnb for her and her maids. As a result, the white walls and clean aesthetic helped us to create some really beautiful getting ready images. Blake got ready in his family’s home just a short distance away. His room also had plenty of window lighting. I cannot say enough how much of a difference it makes to pick a location with light colored walls and lots of natural light, and this couple nailed it.
Once Maria was zipped into her layers of tulle, we brought dad in with his eyes closed for the first look. This is always such a sweet moment, where I remind dad to remember when he first held his precious daughter, and now she’s grown up and so lovely in her wedding gown.
At the ceremony space, boho lanterns hung from the tree boughs amongst the Spanish moss, and anchored either side of the octagon arch, which was draped richly with flowers. Maria and Blake kept their ceremony mostly traditional, adding a unity candle lighting. Blake’s father had the honor of being their officiant, and pronounced them husband and wife!
Then we headed to portrait time! This venue had so many beautiful little nooks, it was hard to choose one spot. We timed it for just the right part of the day, so that these shots were drenched in that golden light. These two lovers had no issue getting cozy to help us create some of my favorite under-the-veil shots to date.
Finally, we finished out the night with party time under the twinkling string lights, and sparkler exit with a kiss and a goodnight!
